My house was built pre-Civil War in 1849 in downtown West Chester. My guess is that the front porch was added somewhere around 1930. Over the years the sun and rain have done damage to the flooring and steps. So periodically there is a need for repair. This time the repairs were centered on the floor that was rotting underneath the three porch posts that support the roof at the steps. As the posts sank they were pulling away from the roof. So this was not a simple job.

Scott of Hazely Builders was able to support the roof so that the porch posts could be repaired, the joists and floor underneath replaced, and a section of flooring was replaced. During this time the steps had to be moved to a temporary area of the porch so that new steps could be built.
